PrayArabicالعربية

Coming soon to iPhone and Android

Learn the prayer, step by step.

Every word and movement of the prayer, with the Arabic, how to say it, and what it means. Works offline.

The guided prayer screen: first rakʿah, the standing recitation, and the Next button.

الصلاة

The prayer is in Arabic. Many who pray don’t speak it.

For every Muslim: those new to Islam, children growing up far from Arabic, and anyone who wants to be sure of what they say. PrayArabic is a quiet teacher on your phone: you hear each line, see how it is written, said and understood, and then it stays with you while you pray.

A learning companion. It never judges whether a prayer is valid. For religious questions, ask a teacher you trust.

Listen. Read. Pray.

  1. Listen

Hear each line as it is said in the prayer, so the sound is familiar before you say it.

  2. Read

The Arabic with its vowel marks, the transliteration and the meaning, side by side.

  3. Pray

Start a prayer and the app walks you through it: what to say, when to move, and which rakʿah you are in.

Takbīr

Arabic

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Say it

Allāhu akbar

Meaning

God is greater [than can be described].

This is how the app shows every line of the prayer.

Everything for the prayer, in one place.

Three versions of every prayer

Short, with only the obligatory parts. Standard, adding common recommended acts like qunūt. Mustaḥab, with every recommended act. Then choose how much it guides you: silent, gentle or fully guided.

The prepare screen for Ẓuhr: choosing the version (Short, Standard, Mustaḥab) and how much guidance.

It follows your recitation

If you like, the phone listens as you pray and moves to the next step with you. It happens on the phone itself, and your voice is never recorded.

If your phone can’t, a tap moves you on.

Before you pray

Everything to get ready, worked out on your phone from your approximate location.

  • Prayer times
  • The qibla direction

Questions

When is it out?

Soon, on the App Store and Google Play. The download links will appear on this page as soon as it is released.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free and without ads. If you like, you can support it with an optional tip through the store. A tip does not unlock anything.

What language is the app in?

The app explains everything in English, alongside the Arabic of every recitation, its transliteration and its meaning.

Will it tell me if my prayer is valid?

No. PrayArabic is a learning companion that guides you to the next step. It never decides whether a prayer is valid. For religious questions, ask a qualified teacher.

Do I need an account or the internet?

Neither. Everything works on your phone, even offline. An account is optional and lets you back up your prayer history and restore it on another phone.

What does it mean that the app “listens”?

If you turn listening on, your phone’s on-device speech recognition follows where you are in the prayer. Your voice is not recorded, kept or sent anywhere. If your phone can’t recognise Arabic offline, listening stays off and you tap Next instead.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and Android phones. There is no iPad version for now.

Coming soon.
